Credits
The accreditation for CME credits has been obtained from the EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education). Attendants will get 15 credits for the whole congress. All CME activities approved by the EACCME are valid for recognition by the American Medical Association (AMA) towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA).

Important information - Pre- and Post conference Tours
The three-Day Tour - along the rivers Rhine and Mosel and the Hightlights of Germany Tour are cancelled since only few people had booked these tours. The one-day tip - Castles around Münster is fully booked. You cannot register for this tour anymore!

Main topics of the meeting
The international scientific committee chose 4 main topics for the meeting in 2010. We felt that these would depict important global issues and would be of interest of medical doctor from all over the world too. These are: gender strategies, addiction, epidemic plagues and nutrition. Invited talks will cover topics such as gender strategies, gender based war violence, the addictive brain, internet addiction, TB-globalization and resistances, gender inequality and HIV prevention strategies, selfish brain: the origin of obesity and interventions for preventing obesity in children. Ursula von der Leyen - patroness of the upcoming MWIA world congress
It is an honour that Ursula von der Leyen, German Federal Minister for Labour and Social Affairs (former German Federal Minister for family affairs, senior citizens, women and youth) agreed on being the patroness for the MWIA world congress 2010 in Münster. She is a medical doctor herself and a mother of seven. Many of the topics of this meeting are very important to her such as e.g. prevention strategies of obesity in children, gender inequality to name a few.

The members of our international scientific committee, which is chaired by Prof. Dr. Dr. Bettina Pfleiderer, Germany (local organization committee) are as follows: Prof. Dr. Marianne Schrader, Germany (Vice-president, German Medical Women´s Association), Dr. Astrid Bühren (President, German Medical Women´s Association). Dr. Shelley Ross, Canada (Secretary-General MWIA), Dr. Waltraud Diekhaus, Germany (Vice President, Central Europe MWIA), Dr. Ólöf Sigurðardóttir, Iceland (Vice President, Northern Europe MWIA) Prof. Dr. Kyung-Ah Park, Korea (Financial Chair of the MWIA) and Prof. Dr. Afua Hesse, Ghana (President-elect MWIA).
The main tasks of the committee are: Planning the scientific programme including plenaries oral presentations and workshops, inviting plenary speakers, reviewing abstracts
